this is a difficult one,my kids range from 10 to 3 months.they eat with there fingers anyway.i do give them knives and forks lol.hot dogs are a favourite.i think it depends on the age of the child

when they were little toast was always good, ginger biscuits or baby biscuits, bits of fruit cut up, cucumber,cheese,pasta,butties

well i gave my 2 alot of that stuff from 4 months up but obv thats not the current advice!!!!
they weren't very prone to chokin on stuff so it was easier and they had alot of it when they were in the baby walker so they were very upright.
they had been weaned since 11weeks and emily had very few pureed meals at all so was quite used to lumps.xx
if u wanna stick to advice i would go with 6months - cos i guess if u were to do baby-led weaning thats wot they advise.
oh also try lumps of cooked yeg.xxx
