Bloody nuisance

I applied for some part time work at a agency 2 months ago. Had the interview, got offered a job, completeted all the relevant forms and was told now l need to wait for my enhanced crb to be done and once l receive it in post to contact them so l can pick up some shifts.
8 weeks later and not heard anything. l spoke to the assistant manager about 2 weeks ago, and she told me these things can take upto 6 - 8 weeks. Am now at th stage where l think they are lying to me, and infcat doubting whether they actually posted the paperwork off. Never in the past has my CRB taken this long.
So today l have spent good 3 hours or so on the net trying to find other part time agency work and its soooo annoying as getting sod all response.
l know internet is meant to be good, but can be very annoying at times. Arghhhh!
